Austin Royals Cross Country
Welcome to the Austin Royals Cross Country Team!

Our group is made up of 7th - 12th grade boys and girls who practice and run in cross country meets from August through October.

We are committed to the Royals mission and vision of discipleship through athletics.

Our team is open to all fitness and experience levels. Our focus is on developing individual performance in a team setting, supporting and encouraging each other to be the best we can be on and off the course.

Royals, are you ready to RUN?

Planning is already underway for our 2019 season. Mark your calendar for these important dates (tentative - check this website for updates as the season nears):

- Monday, July 22 at 7pm: Mandatory Parent Meeting
- Monday, July 29: First Practice

Off-Season Training Tips
Athletes, off-season training is critical!

Here are some tips to come into the season with your best foot forward.

- Work toward being able to run at a moderate pace for at least 30 minutes without stopping.
- Run at least 3 times per week, with some workouts focusing on speed and others focusing on endurance.

Coach Bio
Coach Zach Hobbs is a former collegiate football player and ultra marathon runner. Coach Susan Hobbs is a certified personal trainer, fitness nutrition specialist and yoga instructor. Parents of Drew (13) and Kate (10), the Hobbs are members of Rockbridge Church in Cedar Park. They are entering their fifth year of home schooling with Northwest Austin Classical Conversations. They are excited to be a part of the Austin Royals family!
